Who else has one of these motha fuckas? I just got one for home use, was using some nasty one at the gym. My entire body feels reborn. Shoulders feel reborn and everything feels fresh. If you dont have one of these fuckers go buy one, totally worth it. Anyone have any good videos for rolls? Just saw the DeFranco one.

I use it when my lower back acts up. Shit hurts like hell but seems to speed recovery more than anything I've tried.

Hmm k, will make sure not to hit lower back anymore. Pretty much never/rarely did it before though because it hurt like a bitch.

Flexibility in lower back = more injury prone.

Yes, it's only ten dollars. Alternatively you can buy 3 tennis balls and tape two of them together. You use the ones you tape together to roll your thoracic spine and you use the other one to roll pretty much everything else. I've found that I can only loosen up my muscles with the foam roller, so if I want to break up adhesions and get to my tendons, I have to go to the tennis ball because it's much more focused.

For me it's more an issue of definite pain vs possible risk of injury

I have shitjacked erectors, maybe that helps:greddy:

Your erectors are probably super tight, so I don't think that a little bit of flexibility would hurt. While it's true the lumbar is designed for stability, you're probably well below the threshold of unsafe flexibility.

Edit: The caveat to this is that I don't think that foam rolling your erectors is really going to do anything in the long run. They're probably tight due to trigger points located in other areas on your body, so while you may relax them by foam rolling them, they're just going to tighten up again until you fix where the problem really begins.
