So my main goals are getting ready for my USMC OCS PFT.

My stats are 6', weighing at about 148lbs currently.

I was gonna get yall to critiique my diet and just see what you think. I am working with a nutritionist for the next couple of months but I just wanna have a good base of knowledge to take in there.

My diet is pretty set and I vary, but this is a normal eating day right now.

    Breakfast:

    Flax Oatmeal
    Bran fat free bluebery muffin
    Cup organic yogurt

    Late breakfast:

3/4 to 1 cup egg beaters

    Lunch:

    Salad w/ veggies
Either chicken breast, selection of deli meats, salmon, tuna, beef brisket etc....
    Whole grain fruit bar
    Almonds or peanut butter
    Natural or whole grain granola
    Piece of beef jerky
Little bit of fruit like dried cranberries usually, love me some Craisins.

    After Lifting:

ON Whey w/ cup skim milk

    Dinner:

Salad w/ veggies or some other vegetable like black bean yada.....
Usually 2-3 chicken breasts, steak, salmon, tuna, sashimi sushi...
    Whole grain fuit bar
    Spoonful of peanut butter
Granola some evenings or some other carb like brown rice etc...

    Evening Snacks:

    Beef jerky
    Almonds
    Salami
Small amount of casein protein w/ 1/2 to 3/4 cup skim milk
Maybe a little bit of protein/fiber bar
    Cottage cheese

Thats generally what I do and as I said some variation but that is pretty normal.

My goals right now are to gain some mass. I am still running 4-8 miles per day and usually eliptical right after lifiting for 15-20 mins.

I know the running will not help my growth, but I gotta do it as its a big part of OCS and the PFT test.

Let me know what yall think and if I can change/add/deduct anything. This is normally alot more than I would eat if I were just maintaing and I have seen about 3lbs increase in the last week and a half.

    Thanks guys,

    Z

Lot more carbs after you work out. 50+ grams of fast acting (white bread, gatorade, fruits, jelly (though it's hard to avoid HFCS in them)).

Personally, I would just wait until you're done with OCS as most military training is based around overall fitness and cardio over getting big and muscular. Though I'm just enlisted and I never have f'n time to work out either... I have to get up at 4am to lift then do a 8-12hr work day regularly. Fuck the military...

To think, I was gonna finish my degree and go for LDO, to hell with that! I'm getting out of this waste of time.

My running and cardio is great. I can run 5:30 - 6:00 minute miles easy.

To score a 300 on the PFT though I have to do 20 pullups in 2 minutes after doing situps and running.

I've done some test runs and after I'm tired, doing 20 is quite a challenge for me.

Healthy Valley Organic or Kashi TLC bars. Both are < 25g carbs and around 3 g Fiber.

Add weight to your pull ups when working out. You'll knock out 20 easy. Shit, I do sets of 20 without weight added and I'm Navy, and we all know what a joke the Navy fitness program is. :mamoru:

Also, the Kashi TLC bars are delicious.
