Floppy light won't go out...

    Just installed it yesterday, haven't even used it yet but from the point it was plugged in the light has not gone off. It's not running, the light just won't go out, any ideas?

    You plugged the cable in wrong.

    After so many years, you'd think they'd key those damn cables :rofl:

    When installing a floppy, the red wire should be closest to the power plug.

    Just be happy that connecting floppy drive backward don't fry anything. It's known to nuke the data on a disk if you had one in though :mamoru:

    Not always true: I have a sony floppy drive that is the opposite (Red stripe is away from the power connector). So much for standards. bastards.

    Actually on alot of drives its the other way around...

    Some of them are keyed too, they have a little slot. But if there are three different standards, it's just as good as not having a standard :rofl:
