FLCL is furi kuri. the only word for it is "random".

    however,

dual wielding guitars ftw. kinda reminded me of kh2. the dual wielding of strange not usually weapon like objects.

i heard a rumor that it was only created to test the different animation styles. its a 6 episode long (3 volumes) story about a boy (Naota), who becomes involved in an extravagant series of events. i find it hard to believe that it was created just to test the animation styles, because although they randomly switch, the story is way too deep for it to just be a "fling."

look at the symbols: guitar, hand, baseball bat, the soda, vespas, etc.
it also makes references to other anime in background dialoge, like Daicon IV, Evo, and more.

no the beauty is in the shortness of it all. The story is quick and comes in a rush, telling all it needs to. there are no more plot points to cover. It's done. Just be happy you got to see it.

i like how it leaves some things to be unanswered. you have to infer that happened/happens.
