I was reading about them both and was wondering if anyone has a preference? They are both fairly close to the same thing (from what i read), So I wasnt sure if one was better than the other. Also could i take both at the same time? WIth lower doses maybe? Any help would be appreciated.

I prefer fish oil. They just go down easier and you don't taste any of it.

put them in the freezer and you don't get burps anymore

I usually throw some flax seeds in my protein shakes, and take the fish oil caps every day

fish oil has more omega3 fatty acids...flax has fatty acids your body can convert to omega3's, but at a very low efficiency rate

So... Fish oil pills and actual flax seeds would be my best bet? Dont you have to crush the seeds or something for them to work?

You can by the flax oil like fish oil in caps.

But think the seeds + fish oil for the win.

ALA, found in flax seed is the precursor of omega-3 fats, can be converted to long-chain omega-3 fats and can therefore be substituted for fish oils.

However, ALA is not equivalent in its biological effects to the long-chain omega-3 fats found in marine oils. EPA and DHA are more rapidly incorporated into plasma and membrane lipids and produce more rapid effects than does ALA.

Experimental studies suggest that intake of 3-4 grams of ALA per day is equivalent to 0.3 grams (300 mg) EPA per day.

Taking both is fine, you don't have anything to worry about unless you're counting cals (and even then it's miniscule).

To get the same benefits of fish oil from flax seed oil, the amount you'll need to take will definitely be significant caloriewise.
