I have a 350D and finally got my 430ex in yesterday.

Question i have is this... The flash works great... but i was wondering about something. When i have the flash attached, and shoot in TV mode, why is it that the aperature that it wants to use, seems a bit low? The camera knows the flash is there, fires the flash off just fine... I guess i was expecting the camera to act differently when the external flash was attached, is this not the case?

    * Here are some kittah pics from messing around with the flash yesterday

because the aperture needs to be stopped down in order to compensate for the amount of light the flash produces :dunno:

Guess i worded that wrong, my bad... For example... When shooting pics inside of the cat in TV mode... With the flash on, it wanted to continually shoot at F/4, until i got the shutter speed way slow, like at 30th... I was expecting it to want to raise it to like F/8 at least... with all the light coming out of the flash...

So eventually i switched to manual, and was shooting at various speeds, but for the most part around 125 F/8, and the pics were coming out just fine...

AV and TV meter ambient light, and use flash as fill, P will actually light the subject based on the flash as the main light source, and M well you can do whatever you want with it
