bought this cheap ettl flash when they were having the deal, quantaray 900wa, and im having problems using it as an optical slave.

idk if im doing something wrong or its just that the flash is a cheap and u what u pay for but it gets triggered fine but it seems that it reacts to slowly, ie doesnt show up in the picture. is there some settings im missing or something? or is it just obviously a crappy flash?

probably just a crappy flash. but try a slower shutter speed. 1/100-160.

I would expect a preflash to fuck it up - optical slaves suck with anything automatic

it seems that any shutter speed over 1/15th wont catch the flash, is that normal with optical triggering? or once again is it just because its a cheapy flash?
