7 weeks and it's here. now its time to find a good 9mm carry gun.

also, my thread got locked on arfcom. apparently, replying to inquiries in your thread violates the rules. are you supposed to message every damn person that replies to your thread? :hsugh:

    Yeah, they're funny. :jerkit:

Your 228 should have a proof with a two letter date code (such as KE) stamped on the slide, below the muzzle, just in front of the frame. You'll see an eagle over N nitro proof and the two letters. If it doesn't have this, it was assembled in the US.

bumping is posting "bump," "btt," or "up." not replying to questions. that's just fucking retarded.

arfcom EE is very strict, but very effective. with as many ads that go through that place every day, if there were no BTT rules, your ad would disappear in 5 minutes.

I've seen Honda-Tech's classifieds, and like, they don't hold a candle to ARFCOM.

The rules on ARFCOM are good, and like posted above, there for a reason.

rules are fine, i just don't see how they can consider a reply to an inquiry a bump.

Does the same thing, doesn't it, and furthermore, if we're getting technical, it was a BTT violation, you sent your thread back to top.

The following rules are specific to “BTT”, or bumping ads to the top of the page:

    1. Keep in mind Rule #1 Above.

    2. No BTT's until 72 hours after the LAST post in your ad.

    3. All changes/updates should be done with the edit feature to the original post, not by adding another response.

Sellers -- Do NOT post 'reply sent', 'email sent', 'IM sent' responses! Questions should be addressed by IM or email ONLY!

Buyer's -- STOP with trivial 'mail sent' nonsense, if you have questions simply send the buyer an email and then follow up with an Instant Message if you want to. IF you post an 'I'll take it.' reply and then don't, be sure to GO BACK and edit your 'I'll take it.' note out! Also, STOP bumping ads with "Hey, free bump for a nice rifle.", "Free bump for a nice guy", "Hey, great rifle. I wish I had the money", etc.

    4. Don’t use a secondary "shill" account to ask a phony question or post any other messages, thus BTTing your ad. This can result in BOTH accounts being locked!

    5. Sellers, don’t rewrite an ad again in order to get it back on page 1.

    i completely understand the rules.

i dont see anything in there about a response to questions being considered a BTT.

the understood reason to do a btt, bump, etc is to move your thread to the top when there have not been any responses and you want to generate more traffic. that's completely understandable but at the same time totally unrelated to responding to questions in your thread.

anyway, no need to argue about it. what's done is done.

i think their rules are fair. just edit your original posts with any answers you think are pertinent.
