i know there could be 2 schools of thought.

    A) fixed sight means no needing to fumble/flip when your optic fails
    B) flip sight doesn't get in the way of your optic

so which is it? i'm torn between a larue buis and an arms #40

    flip. /thread.

I didn't go with a low-pro gas block just so I could block my optic with something else.

I have a fixed rear site (LMT) because its a primary site, i have no need for an optic at this point, i'd rather put $ on another project than glass at the moment

i think flips would be fine even if they are your primary site at the moment.

that way, you dont need to buy flips when you get something else :dunno:

Fixed front, flip rear. Easier to flip a rear than the front and the fixed front doesnt bother most people like a fixed rear does.

it still matches up through the optics, only difference is the lack of folding, i'm not really concerned, i'll prolly never put optics on to be honest

plus, w/ my luck, less moving parts = less parts to fail

I run flips both front and back so I have the option available for anything I want to do with the rifle. They are just as reliable as fixed, take a second to lock in place if the optics fails and no snagging on things.

Comes down to personal preference. Either way you go, you will have reliable sights to use.

Fixed with lower 1/3 cowitness. Doesn't get in the way, and it's always there.

People who store their rifles with sights folded and optics turned off make baby jesus cry.

sorry, no mailbox here by that name (#5.1.1) (in reply to RCPT TO command)

Clear your damn PMs. But PS, I dont need to sell this sight. $70 is firm. Otherwise, I'll just keep it for a future build. :hs:
