Looks hot as hell. What offset wheels are you running? Any spacers?
Kosei K1 17x8.5 40mm offset, 16lbs. Sitting on Kumho MXs 235/45, slightly larger sideway due to the fact that Kumho refuses to make 235/40
Edit: no spacers, stock springs mated with Koni SA shocks.
Lightweight and good looking FTW! I'm looking to get some 5zigen fn01r-c's 17x8 35mm offset 17lbs each. Can't wait to get rid of the 26 lb. anchors my car was cursed with from the factory!
I'm surprised your wheels sit so flush with the fenders with a high offset like that. Either way, it looks and I bet the car handles amazing. I've only driven a 330i and even that handled very well. Paint also looks good for it's age (asssuming it's original). How many miles you have on her?
The paint is original, the front bumper actually looks worse than it shows on the picture. It's a 97 and has 93k on it. The Kosei K1s are one of the most common track rims of choice in the e30/e36 community.
That's a great set up wish they made wheels this light for my car. I need a set for autocross.
Not bad. Dump the fucking Kumhos though, that slanty shit has no business on a proper car. Pick up some Michelin Pilots, or maybe some Pirello P-Zeros.
Thank you for not ricing it out with clear corners.
I agree clears look so bad on these cars.
I love the way it came from the factory, I personally don't see why people constantly put clears on these cars
I doubt you really know much about these tires so I'll be nice. Kumho MXs are widely considered by the autocross/HPDE community to be on par grip/price with Falken Azenis. The reason I went with them over the Falkens is that at the time they were slightly cheaper, as well as available from tirerack. I knew I was going to have them next day so I was pressed. My next set will likely be the Falkens. I have 3 more HPDEs this year planned.
Because it's the "euro" look. If people in europe smeared dog shit on their windshields people here would do it too. I think the clears look cheap, like something someone bought on Ebay for their civic.
What happens when you try to stop in the rain? My experience with tires that blocky is that they slide all over the goddamn place.
yea since from the factory in europe they came with amber corners right?
rice car, but i took the same tires off my car after about 12k miles because of the horrible grip. nice wheels though... come with those?
Just because they came like this in Europe... ah fuck it.
I beg to differ, I doubt you have much experience with autocrossing or the track. You have to get HEAT into these tires to get any grip out of them. The car came with the standard soccer balls.
They are ok in the rain, and by ok I mean they not all that good. Any tire of this caliber is not going to be as good as a less aggressive compound in the rain or anything other than a flat surface.
Are we in europe?
Have you ever run a set of P-Zeros or Pilots?
Yes, ran a set of the Pilots two years ago. In all reality there is absolutely no reason to buy them, they cost double that of other tires that equal or even exceed them in track performance.
That's true the only issues I have had with the Kumos is that they are kinda stiff and give up alot in ride comfert. I really like the contis my self I going to stick with them until I have issues with them.
I need to wax my car my wife is getting me a whole Ziano bros kit for my birth day which is a week away so I'll have to wait for that.
