    Input? Feedback? Honest C&C?

I went into it having zero experience with posing people. Theyre just good friends though who are hard up for cash but really wanted some pictures taken. Also, these are SOOC so Im gonna clone out some stuff before I give them to them (like the sticker on the bottom of her shoe).

    Things I learned:
    1. Dont shoot that close to sunset with an overcast sky. Its just shitty light.
    2. Let them interact more. I dont like posing people and I dont like just pictures of them looking at the camera.
    3. Talk to them, keep them laughing. Some of the best opportunities seem to come then.

hmm. overall they are good, they will like them.

I think some are a bit underexposed (14-17) and they all seem to lack vivid processing and seem a tiny bit flat.

18 and 19 the DOF is too shallow

i like 11 and 8 (her ass looks nice in 8)

skin tones are a little wonky and different through out the set... you can definitely tell they were comfortable with you and that's 90% of the game.

Shes hot. #2, faces look red and his hair looks blue...did you increase the saturation or vibrance slider too much?

Yeah :hs: Theyre SOOC and the lighting was really flat and blue anyways so theres not much I can do there. Ill try to make them pop some more when I get time. 18 and 19 the DOF is very shallow but theres not much I could. It was practically dark outside. I just had to make it happen and all I had was an old Nippon Kogaku 50/1.4 Nikkor.

    Thanks for the comments

No. Like I said, theyre pretty much SOOC. In the beginning I was using AWB and with the overcast/stormy end of the day, the light was pretty blue. Its something I realized later and went to cloudy and it seemed to work a little better.

Colors look kinda horrid. She's red then she's green then underexposed. I think the poses all look good, but overall, the light looks flat, boring and really unflattering. The bokeh looks super rough and distracting. Also, I don't like that it looks like you stayed in same place the whole time. oh, and PS the price tag out of the bottom of her shoe.

What's your picture control set at on the D3? Try setting it to neutral, or portrait picture control. I find standard can be too saturated and too contrast-y for skin tones, especially if the person has a ruddy complexion already.

Thanks. I plan to do some editing on them when I get some free time :hs:

Already noted the colors and the PS'ing.
What pictures do you think have bad bokeh?

I think it was on vivid. I probably shouldnt do that :o Im gonna get them out again on a day with better light. Ill keep that in mind.

RE bokeh, 2,3,4 are smooth, the rest are rough.

    Hmm..

I suppose its subjective. I can see #1 being harsh and #5 being kinda ugly in spots. The rest dont bother me too much. Do you think #1 would benefit from being cropped tighter? Since most of the ugly bokeh is up top?

    I sincerely appreciate your input.

Yeah, I think a tighter crop would help it.

Thanks. Ill have to get on that. I suppose I never really paid much attention to bokeh. I was watching backgrounds to keep out cars/children/dogs/people but I suppose Ive never really been concerned with the quality of the bokeh. I should probably take that into consideration from now on.

I like 1, 3, and 7 the best out of this set. The skin tones and WB are kind of weird.

they have a nice feeling and are obviously comfortable with you. That's 80% of it right there.

Having said that, these feel rushed.
Exposure isn't really there, and wb is inconsistent.

5 nice expr on them, but why crop so 1/4 of his hand is showing down there? it's either in or out. feels careless/snappy this way.

7 knee; otherwise nice, but why not arrange them so the bkg is foliage (like him) instead of having the tree trunk grow out of her body

8 her shape is nicely shown to best effect, except for the wrinkle at the hip

12 nice shot, but I'd like the crop to emphasize the long, graceful lines of her legs. I'd prefer that instead of presenting his spread-wide crotch front and centre

    14 her ring is twisted

16 good expression, but exposure is off

18 highlight beside his cheek is distracting, since its the only one

I agree...the bokeh does have a weird look to it. It's like there is a circular blur in there.
