okay I've always wanted to get into photography, but never really had the time or equipment. Well, now that I moved west, and have free time while hunting for a job, I borrowed my old mans Canon 30d, and went out to the coast for some practice. Other than point and shoot cameras that I used mostly to document structural work, I've never taken any real pictures before. Did a little reading up here, and on some other forums for some basic advice and I think I did okay. These are uncorrected btw.

Watch out for those railings :noes:

Only looked at the three thumbnails, but overall composition is good. I'd wait for sunset next time to try and get some decent colors in the sky, especially if there are some clouds.

Thanks. My father who I've been getting to know after a 20 year seperation, has been shooting since the 60s. The guy does mostly motocycle races, so he has some nice glass, and having access that that helps alot.
I'd really like to get into night shots, and concerts, and possibly some time lapse. I figure I'll start easy though and practice, practice, practice. Not only that but it's a great way to get to know the area. :coold:

anybody know where their might be some old/abandoned industrial locations in the bay area?
