So, being that everytime we plan to go out and setup targets in the desert, it snows that day or the temp goes to 10 degrees, friend and I are hitting a indoor range this weekend. Neither of us have ever been and I am wondering what to expect.

Generally, what tips do you guys have? Rules that you know of? Anything so we don't look like complete noobs! :hs:

You've been to a range before and know basic gun safety right?

Look for a posted set of rules at the range, most have their own dumb rules but for the most part its just go and shoot. Some will have rules about how many shots per second, drawing, or if you can use aluminum or steel cased ammo. The range will be hot the whole time since no one should have to go down range. Don't have loaded guns out of the booth behind the line or people like me will get pissy.

Hearing protection is overrated in an indoor range. Don't bother with it. :hsugh:

So basically, it's going to be the standard outdoor range stuff, plus maybe some quirks on the owners part.

They love it when you shoot the target hangers and the ceiling.

Is the indoor range you going to have electric hangers or do you have to set up the targets yourself?

-only handle your gun at the firing line
-always keep the muzzle pointed down range

and obvserve the basic range rules.

Handle the gun smart, obey the rangemaster, don't goof off. There's a thread on RME recommending indoor ranges if you haven't found one yet.
