I have a 99 Civic SI, totally stock. Only thing I've done is finally get some better tires. I'm thinking I need to replace the springs as it sits a little high and feels soft, and a better exhaust. Anything else to do before attempting major changes?

exhaust will do next to nothing on that car. same goes for header. and if u get an intake, people will hear your car and talk about how :greddy: you are.

if i were u, i'd just work on suspension and suspension only. cars not gonna get any faster (bolt ons will give u like <10+ peak hp) without a supercharger , turbo, or an even costlier NA buildup. but it handles real well, and can handle even better with a nice coilover setup/

that car and the type R integra are basically maxed out from the factory.

make sure it doesnt get stolen liek all the rest. get some SERIOUS wheel locks, and an alarm that has one of those pagers to let u know when ur car is being stolen. For those situations, i'd recommend carrying a gun as well. So u may consider investing in a Glock as a mod

Great advice :) Wheel locks were the first thing I bought. And I do plan on getting my own pistol and a concealed permit by the summer. I'm not interested in increasing power, I have no delusions about what I drive. But I do think the handling and braking could use some serious work, they are both very underwhelming.

I'd de-badge it and replace them with DX badges to make sure the car stays around a while.

You get the added sleeper benefit too.

Uh it really depends what you want to do with it.

    Autox?
    Drag?
    Canyon carver?
    Fully riced out show car?

Me personally, I would put some eibach prokit lowering springs on it (~1.5in drop), maybe some clean 15-16inch rims with better tires, but seeing as you already have good tires, no need for rims, the SI's stockers are sexy :bigthumb:. Id just save up for a greddy turbo kit, hondata and some dyno time to make that car very fun.

Actually the Si badge has been gone for years. I just walked out one day to the lot and it was gone. If it was stolen, they did a nice job, no scratches or anything. :eek3: Plus almost every Si I've seen has the badges gone as well, I dunno...........

save your money on mods for a turbo. no mods in the world is going to get you anymore power of that engine unless forced induction.

Well, Password JDM's J's style Carbon Fiber intake is a good product. If you wanna lower it, hit up KTeller.com and look at a set of Omni Power full coilovers.

Anything else you wanna do? Header? Exhaust? Buddy Club has some great products also carried by KTeller.

Werd i'd leave the motor totally stock, or maybe find a 1.8l bottom end for it....definatley don't do a short shifter--bad on syncros and I found it took more effort to hit the appropriate gear than with the stocker, despite the shorter throws...As for suspension, I would buy a full coilover setup ( Omni,JIC,Tein Flex,) and an ITR rear sway bar with a beaks kit..you don't need those fancy control arms or any of that bullshit...then some good tires, perhaps falken azenis?...and call it good.
