So this is my first test roll. I've shot like 7-8 rolls of black and white already, but was getting impatient (I'm getting all my supplies to do my own developing tomorrow.. and I didnt want to wait, was getting eager.). So I shot a roll of C-41 black and white to have it done in the lab. Got them tonight and I am SUPER excited. Really impressed with the output from this little 50/1,4. Keep in mind that I shot these during about 4 minutes after a work day as we were closing. THey're pretty boring, but still are fun to look at (for me at least). So here are 11 of the 24 exposures I took during a matter of about 4 minutes last night. Theyre just scans of the 4x6 prints:

Man no BW looks like BW film. The "color" from BW film is just killer. Makes me want to go grab some BW and run it through the EOS3 :mamoru:

wow, those look awesome. I'm starting to look into these vintage cameras. Sorry for the n00b question, but if you were to sell that S2 right now, how much would you ask? I know you work at a camera shop and probably got a great deal on it.

I had to buy this one privately, no awesome camera store deals :wtc:

On eBay they go for about $650-700USD for an average condition one. Mine is about average condition, the classic camera store in Edmonton had it listed at $950. I traded him a Pentax K1000, Rollei 35, Olympus PEN D and a shitty Sigma 24-60/2,8 which took the price down to $400CDN.

Nikon stuff is very expensive for rangefinder, because it's so rare. They were not made for very long, and most stuff is quite limited production. This especially applies to lenses.. they're crazy expensive. I'm buying a Voigtlander 25/4 this weekend but it's gonna take a month to get in. Almost everything for this mount has been discontinued, it's REALLY hard to find good stuff at an affordable price, even by a third party manufacturer like Voigtlander.

    x2..

Some of my best shots were with 400 tmax.... :bigthumb:

Well besides that one roll that got fucked up cause the mexican lab assistant messed up the developer mixture.

To the OP... nice shots man.

If you want something cheaper check out the Contax G1 or the Konica Hexar AF, they're both autofocus rangefinders. The Hexar is a fixed 35 f/2, which is fucking SHARP as hell. It's probably the quietest consumer camera ever made too.

Or check out the Canon 7 or the Canon P, both decent rangefinders with decent lenses. I think they're really ugly, but that doesn't affect the pics, of course.

    i have a canon 7 too.
its stronger than a Leica, metal shutter curtains FTW. the leicas can easily burn a hole if you point the lens at the sun. its a quiet camera too.
the drawback is its harder to focus and the 35mm frameline is damn hard to see, but not "invisible" like my M4's 28mm line

i have no idea what to do with that 120 infared, it was a gift.
i cant afford to buy the 67mm filter it needs, and if i were really into IR id just get a converted digital body.

I loved developing. That part was so ... therapeutic almost.
