    Hey everybody,

Here's a couple of shots from this past weekend with my newly acquired XT - finally got the chance to play around with it for a bit with my in-laws pups. Some CC would be greatly appreciated. :hs:

This one's pretty blown out and out of focus, but I figure I'll post it anyways...

Exif data should be attached. I kept goofing around with the ISO... All pictures were taken in Av with the stock 18-55mm. I'm still learning the ropes, hopefully in time I'll get the hang of it...:hs:

    edit:

    - Just noticed all the noise in the pic with him holding up Sandy (lab-beagle mix)...

    - How about that chair leg in the last picture...:hsugh:

    - Do they seem sound composition wise? Are the backgrounds too distracting? (They were all fairly candid.)

    Oh, and here's some CC:

The first two shots, the subject starts in the middle of the frame. This leaves the whole top half of the frame filled with background. In both cases, the background grabs my attention first - especially the small dog with the cracked concrete. I almost find the crack and the one puff of green grass to be more interesting than the dog.

The noise is distracting in the 3rd, as I immedietly noticed that you shot it at a high iso. Also, the hard line from the van intersecting the guys face is pretty disctracting as well.

If the last one was in focus, you coulda cropped it and saved it.

    Not bad though. Keep shooting.

I love shooting pics of my dog. I find animals to be MUCH more interesting than people. (and flowers, and power lines...)

If you are taking pictures of pets get down to their level. Taking them from your level has them all looking upward.

Thanks for the input jared - I'll do my best to be more aware of my negative space and what's filling it while I'll clicking. It's almost like tunnel vision. :hs:

And I'll definitely keep the POV in mind while I'm shooting animals and such from now on. :wiggle:

I appreciate the input, hopefully I'll have more to post and grow on soon... Just need to make more time for shooting.
