such a wicked computer
about the fifth post with mine!
How do I check how big my original HD was? I moved over about 2GB of docs and stuff, 5 GB of movies or so, and it says I only have 24GB left? I paid for a 60GB HD and I definitely didnt use up 30GB yet.
highlight the mac hd on your desktop and press "apple + I"
the osx install is fairly big, but you can download some free programs to remove all the language files and printer drivers that you don't need. that will free up a few gigs.
Please list said programs.
language = monolingual
becareful though, just get rid of the languages, not the other stuff...it might fuck up your system and only way to fix is a reinstall of osx. languages take up anywhere from 700 megs - 1.5 gigs of space
also, getting rid of your garage band tracks (if you don't intend to use them), and idvd/imovie templates will free up another 4 or so gig (they are in your library)
to get rid of the printer drivers go to your hard drive > library > printers and delete all the folders inside...that's like a good 2 gigs maybe?
so do all of that and you freed up 5-7 gigs
I just bought one last thursday, love it.
The remote is so damn cool
