A&P First pics with macro lens v. botanicle garden

    After a cold week in Atlanta most of the flowers were ugly and dying :wtc:

    I think i did pretty good with the circumstances. Canon 30D /w 100mm Macro f/2.8. I'll post more if you guys want

    Nailed them all ! I just got that lens as well. Stupid sharp !

    the quality is to bleed for. I can see the individual specs of pollen on the stamen!

    great photos. nice colors.

    i'm kindda confused about this lens though. cause im looking to buy it eventually.

    since it's at a set 100mm length.. there's no zooming? is it like a prime? so you gotta walk forward/back in order to zoom. does it autofocus or is it all manual focus? i know with my extension tubes i gotta use manual focus most of the time. also.. how far do you have to be from the object.. like the bee photo. cause i know if i used any of my lenses and my extension tubes.. i'd have to get pretty close to the bee.. probably like 6-8 inches away.. and it would fly off or sting me.

    You walk back in forth to "zoom". It has both manual and auto focus even though autofocus is pointless when your that close. For the bee i was probly about 5 inches away from it.

    Don't take it the wrong way I'm just saying everyone takes pics of bees :coold:

    I like them both...

    2nd is a little over exposed.
