My first new lens arrived today!(other than the kit lens) The 50mm f/1.8 absolutely loving it right now. Here are some shots from today. Its been real cool getting into photography because my gf's dad used to have a photo studio when they lived in Mexico so its cool to talk to him about photography. But tough at the same time to have to learn all the terminology in spanish too. Today he showed me some of his old stuff that he brought with him. He hasn't used most if it for a while and doesn't even know if it works so tmw we are going to go get some film and try to shoot some stuff.

I had one of those... it is great outdoors. I think it sucks indoors, on a 1.6 body it is more of an 80 mm and not very useful.

I do like mine as well. But at valence says, i dont like that it is like an 80mm. I think I would be happier with a 30mm instead of the 50mm

I had one too but found it too long for use indoors on my crop body. Ended up switching to the Sigma 30mm.

This lens will get you hooked on fast primes though.

first lens I got, I use it for times when I might need a bit of a longer lens or portraits. My 35 is a lot more fun for daily use though. It will definately get you hooked on fast glass like someone above me said
