I'm going to love this lens. The colors seem much nicer than the sigma 10-20, and there is very little distortion at 12mm, unlike the sigma. I only snapped a few shots on my way to a meeting tonight, but I'll be using it all weekend and be sure to post more.

just did a curves adjustment, cropped, and resized.

One quick one from my walk to campus:

    There's a 12-24 for FX?

well you pelfed the shit out of that one! but you gotta understand one thing. wide angle lenses aren't meant for you to stand there and zoom out to 12mm and take a picture of everything. they are meant for you to get as close as you can to the subject, then zoom out to 12 mm and exaggerate the perspective.
everyone has seen what something looks like super wide, but it is your job to make your subject interesting by using that super wide lens.

that is what differentiates a good wide angle shot from a shitty wide angle shot.

I dunno, the guy who sold it to me said it was FX but it says DX on the lens

Not that it matters, I won't be buying a full frame for a long time.

    maybe a little :noes:

the 14-24 f/2.8 is definitely fx

    ya

    just added a curves adjustment

thanks, good point, that particular shot was at 19mm btw.

I know about the 14-24, but he made it seem as if there was a 12-24 for full frame. :o

The lens and a CPL on it, and I stated that I did a curves adjustment, which darkened it a bit more.

The original is pretty close to that though, so yeah.

point well made, but I use wides because I shoot car shows and often only have a small area close to the car to shoot from and I want to get the whole car in the shot.
