Pretty cool, but I tend to enjoy harder shadows adds more atmosphere

amazing how suddenly HDR has taken off and now everyone is getting in on it, I should seriously try this.

Looks like you nailed it. Personally I think the foreground is a little too bright - kind of looks forced.

    Good work.

Highlights not blown out, shadows not blocking up, saturation not off the scale.

    Love your work.

Did you use a bracketing feature to get the photos?

very nice. You definitely didn't go overboard with it which is amazing. Could you post the 3 photos you blended?

why take the time to manually do it when their's a feature that does it for you automatically?

its not like it takes an creative control to bracket an exposure :hs:

I don't have a 1 series, but I think its easier to just roll the wheel rather than go through the menu to get bracketing

I didn't use the auto bracketing for this shot.. I metered one for the rocks, one for the sky, then overexposed everything to get the soft water.... I'll post up the 3 pics on monday when I get back to work... I left the CD's there

Did you have to mask the different layers? or use a plugin?

  18. having the whole image being in focus and being brightly lit makes it kinda flat imo. :hs:

but I do agree it looks nice :)

if you have a sturdy enough tripod and a release cable you'll be just fine not using the auto bracketing.

Seeing the three originals, I have to admit the final photo looks excellent as a product.
