I used to work with a guy who during Ramadan would skip out of work for a bit, and load up on McDonalds, then bring it back (primarily because it was cheap, and close by)

I obviously don't recommend that, but pretty much anything can taste like ambrosia after fasting.

Casein protein in the morning with lots of complex carbs and fish oil. As soon as you can break fast get some whey in and anything else you normally eat.

I'm trying to just fill up as much as possible on carbs and protein in the morning and pretty much eat anything I can at night to try and recover as much as possible.

You'd be surprised at how easy it is. People who've never tried it make it out to be much worse than it actually is.

I've done a few times before for 30 hours straight (church thing growing up) but we could drink all the water and kool-aid we wanted so it was a bit different. Its really not that hard until the last few hours.
