This guy I like is coming out to visit. We both love electronic music and were thinking of going to a huge rave.. I partly think this could be a very bad idea because it would be just the two of us and it's the first day he's flying in..

I am picking him up at the airport at 2 so we would have lots of time to hang out before the actual rave at like 8 or 9 pm..

is this a really bad idea??

why would it be a bad idea? its not a typical dinner and a movie date.

you're both going to an event catering to your likes...(unless hes not into raves....)

I'd say it's the making of a fun date at least.

I dunno.. I've never been to a rave.. so I'm not sure if it would be too like intense for a first date?.. technically we will be spending time with each other earlier in the day, like I said.. but it still worries me

i personally don't think its too intense...but then again, it'd force the both of you to be together for about 4 hours straight.

what do you think would go so wrong at a rave that couldn't happen anywhere else?

If neither of you get wasted/roll, there really isn't much that can "go wrong" at a rave - and if by "go wrong," you mean awkwardness, you seriously wont' be able to really talk the whole evening, you'll probably just be dancing together/dancing the whole time. The music and dancing is so intense you'll feel like you're on drugs anyway if you're really into that scene :hsughno:

Be VERY VERY careful. I am not saying all raves are dangerous. I am not saying he is dangerous. But considering the circumstances of your meeting, have a plan B you can run by him, in case you get the feeling you can't trust him, as you are getting to know him.

    Just be careful!

I totally agree with you. I love the music/events. But first ever meeting, her first time at a rave, they may or may not drink/drop, so many factors taht could make it a horrible night...

or it could turn out to be a great date as you say.

I think the rave would the the best plan B. she can ditch him in the throng of fellow electronic music lovers.

I don't disagree. But as afar as we know, the "group + DD" scenario isn't hers. Shes is with some strange guy, alone. That doesn't, by any means, guarantee he is a dirtbag, but it should throw up a huge red flag.

it's not the first thing we are doing.. and I am 99% positive he is not a dirtbag/someone to worry about

Because he could be a dirtbag, and a girl shouldn't be alone with a dirtbag.

Well, if your gut instinct is that you trust him, then by all means, have fun at the rave.

Just have a Plan B though.

its more that it would be too intense and we wouldnt be able to talk? or that it would just be awkward with just the two of us on the first night we met..?
