How does this look considering my budget? (~$1200)

    Case: Antec PLUS1080AMG
    PSU: Antec 430W
    Mobo: Abit IC7-G Max-2
    CPU: P4 2.8C
    Ram: 1 GB Mushkin PC3500 level 1
    Vid: 9800pro (ATI & 128mb)
    HDD: Western Digital 160GB 7200rpm 8mb buffer
DVDR: NEC 8X Black DVD+RW/-RW Drive
    Floppy: Black Samsung whogivesashit

    Comes out to: $1,212

Sound card and new monitor will be purchased later. I figure I will be fine for OCing, gaming, and for DVD burning/copying purposes.

This will be my first build. :big grin: :x:

That HD is out of stock. Going to order the SATA one. What's the difference?

    IIRC, speed is the difference.

Nice, although 1gb ram might be overkill
Also, make sure you buy some case fans

SATA has a higher max transfer rate (150mb/sec vs. 100/133mb/sec)

I'd suggest the Seagate 160GB 8mb SATA drivers. That mb should have at least 1, if not 2, SATA plugins. At $130 a pop you can set yourself up a cheap mirror so that your data is secure :)

:werd: There was a noticeable improvement on my machine when I upgraded from 512 to 1 gig.
