i recently competed in my first bjj tournament, i weighed in at 65.6 kilo without gi competeing in the under 70 kilo div (thats 70 kilo including gi). it was elimination and i got beat in my first fight, ill post videos soon, but it will be crappy quality. i lost by armbar :p ill be the one in the red belt! Ive had about 20 lessons i worked out, so im a bit crap, but i had a ball, cant wait to get into my next comp and train harder!

video will come tomorrow! any help with technique will be appreciated, only bjjers comment on technique :p

eek you sound strong, dont hurt me too much :p but yeah its really fun to train saturday mornings if your not too hung over (dont worry theres always a few people who look a bit seedy after a big night). but its 15 bucks per training you go to, all ya gotta do is fill out some form saying you wont sue the place if ya brake your neck and any previous injuries. it starts at 10 and goes till 12 and its at 19 holden street wollongabba.

thats if you are up for it, either way its good to see another bjjer out there in brisbane :big grin:

I didn't realise kroneX was my brother, yeah he's doing pretty good, he's had a few lessons now. (needs to learn some takedowns though)

Justin, I've been doing it a little bit aswell, when I'm not away working. Might see you one day, you got my number msg me if your going.

    Peace

As far as the 20 lessons thing goes.

I generally help work the tourneys my school puts on. We had this really country guy show up last tourney. Probably mid 30s, balding, cutoff jean shorts, cutoff shirt. He wants to enroll in the beginners and intermediate classes for his weight class. We explain to him that he can't. If he wins intermediate then the other coaches aren't going to be happy with him going into beginners and cleaning up.

me: "Lets figure out what class you should really compete in. How much BJJ experience do you have?"
    him: "1 class"
me: "You've only been to 1 class?"
him: "yeah, but I might be the next randy co-touuuurr"

He didn't mention that he had like 18 years of wrestling experience. He won his division pretty damn handily.
