Tips? I've heard over inflate the tires to 45 psi or so... what else?
Empty out your car, including floormats. Bring water, food, sunscreen. Have fun.
Head Unit face-- that need to go too?
I'm the resident Autox nerd. What car are you running and where?
www.solo2.org click get started
No, only things that can fly around inside the car. No change, pends, pressure gauges, etc. Driver floormat must come out for the race, as it may get stuck under your pedals.
Get ready to invest in another set of tires.
Try to focus on knowing the course ahead of time, if they allow you to walk it first, do so.
Finesse > Force
How do you find events? there was one here like 2 years ago at the airport that i read on a flyer, but i haven't found anything like that since.
Glove box shit-- can that stay?
A lot of really good drivers have LOOK AHEAD in vinyl on their dash or steering wheel. It's really nerdy but it's true.
Again, what car/tires?
Whats the biggest city in your area? I'll find some.
98 Honda Prelude, KYB AGX Struts, Kumho 712 Tires.
What size tires?
I drove a nearly stock prelude this weekend during the fun runs. Wheelhops like whoa
EDIT: SH or not SH?
marquette, MI is the biggest city in the area
population : ~25,000
2154017 non SH
anybody ever autoX an S10 with stock suspension? 2wd, not 4wd.
Look into rally. I think they hold some in your area.
I'm not sure that they would let you run as it is 'rollover prone.'
Go ask at http://www.solo2.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi
What type of cars are commonly run in my class?
Bronson Field eh?
Might have to go now, you'll probably go up against another FF with similar HP
Hope its not me
Is it completely stock other than your shocks?
No, bolton power stuff-- struts, springs, strut bar--
I need an exact list of mods. Sounds like your stuck in the most fun -- but most competitive class... STS. Same class I run with about 20 other people everyweekend.
Integra GSR/LS (no R)
Ford Focus (incl SVT)
etc etc. Basically all economy cars w/o an LSD (unless AWD, then one is permitted, or if you have a VLSD) under 3 liters or under 2liter turbo.
Cold Air Intake, Underdrive Pulleys, Header, H&R Sport Springs, KYB Struts, Front Strut Bar-- I think thats it.
am I going to get owned?
