Did a "photography and video" class in college, which was a complete joke. Lecturer never showed up, for the whole 6 months his input was, "do a music video, don't use much stock video, try and put some photos in it".
So I decided to make use of the lack of direction and go a bit nuts for my first attempt. I haven't recieved one piece of advice on this any aspect, so anything would be good :) (Don't tear me a new one though, the video is done in my mind!)

All video shot with a shitty sony video cam

    wow, that was superb.

i liked the beginning a lot. couldnt watch it with sound though (at work).
awesome cuts, sometimes the fast cuts using two scenes (the flickering effect) didnt do it for me though.

if this is your first vid, i can only  to you. your footage was creepy and stylish. i can tell that a lot of work went into this (post production).

    post moar soon!

    Thanks man!

Thanks, the i might ave gone overboard with the flcikering between video and photography, it helped to remove the amateurish feeol to the home video and increase tension.

That could have been a lot worse.

    Problems:
Hand at the end was terrible.
Repetitiveness of scenes, specifically eye and knife struggle, should have been shorter or more varied.
Find a better way to produce noise, or do it as a filter layer. It seems really harsh and amateur when compared to everything else.
    Blur-to-the-beat was overused.
Red sky was kind of meh, I would have liked the same PP or black and white maybe.

    Good:
Processing was excellent. I hate it when people overuse this style on photos, because it's out of place and without tone, but the video subject and music give it context.
Knife against the mirror. The hand could have been a little more stable (I might have considered faking it with a still) and when he goes across the mirror it's a little more "loose" than I would have liked but the effect was really good.
Subject jumps were good but a little subtle.

    .

but for a first try, that was pretty damn good. If my first try at safe sex was done as well as that, I wouldn't be writing a $500 check every month. I'll give you a

I couldn't think of a suitable way of ending it.
There is a lot of repitition in it, that's down to time constraints, there are way too many doors being opened also.
When you say the noise is harsh and amateurish "compared to everything else", what do you mean everything else? I did just through in animated noise into it just so the photo's didn't look so flat.
I used so much blur to beat to try and keep each scene going, not much really happens in the vid.
I tried some different colours on the sky, but it didn't flow as easily from the eye scene, the two scenes use pretty much the same colours.

    Thanks for the C&C!

    Cheers man.

75% premiere, I used after effects for a few effects

    lol :)

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

Seriously though, that was pretty damn awesome. I have no real comments, just that for a first effort it's really good. Definitely keep going.
