If you've read my earlier threads, you know I'm getting ready to start selling my art. I figured cars would be a big seller on eBay, so this was my first attempt. It's a Lamborghini Murcielago. I may color it in Photoshop, but the original was done with a mechanical pencil and eraser.

Now, the question is--what would you pay for a high-quality, 8x10 canvas print of this (or your favorite car), and how much would you pay for the original sketch? Trying to get prices in mind for when I bust out on eBay.

Thanks, I thought it turned out well for a first attempt.

A couple people have said this pic looks like a photoshop... I cut the background out because the grain of my sketch paper was showing and I didn't want to brighten the picture too much.

not that i'm into buying art and such, but i'd buy a couple for like $15 bucks each. be cool to havea framed set of like 4 of 5 that i could put up on the wall.

i'm also pretty cheap and non-art savvy so i dunno what they'd really be worth. try putting a dollar amount on the time u spend? like if you spend 2 hours drawing it, charge say... 15 an hour totaling a $30 picture. i dunno.

I'd say the originals would be worth 15-20, or 25-40 if you matted them... or had me make the mats for you.. ya know, if you don't have the stuff to do it :p

Yeah, I'm really looking for the niche markets. I was planning on selling high quality prints for $10, maybe add $5 for canvas paper, another $5 or $10 for matting.

I think doing custom pics for people I could probably get quite a bit for the originals--I sold two originals of this (B&W, I colored this in Photoshop) on eBay about a year ago and they went for $70 and $80:

I figure if people wanted color they'd just go out and get the photograph...
I plan on making the sketches maybe more action-filled, or at least artistic angles--not just a car sitting there. I was really just testing the waters to see if I could do cars well enough.
