    AR build 90% done!

Attached the upper, manually cycled the bolt a few times -- slamed a magazine in -- slapped the bolt release.

    Instant hard-on.

    Pics in a few.

    BUIS and rail.

In reality it's done. But not done.

I don't think I need to look at any more stuff. My wallet is having a seizure.

You have a primary optic or just using BUIS for now? You know what kind of BUIS you want? I was about to get the cheap YHM but a couple people told me to get a Troy. :dunno:

Not a problem, bud Actually spent a few minutes looking some stuff up and calling Midwest Ind. to clearify some stuff.

If everything goes as planned, I'll take it to the range after my trip to ATL

I really like the looks of that magpul stock but I don't know if I can justify the cost in upgrading from an M4 stock. :dunno:

Yeah, it'll look a lil different after the rail comes in.... then I should look at a light... maybe a vertical grip....

Oh shit man, it doesn't end...

I've only used the other stock for maybe a couple times one a friend's last summer. Not enough to suggest one or the other -- although everyone says the magpul is superior. I CAN say that the CTR is way easy to ajust on the fly. I'm 6'1 and at full extention it sits nice.

Trust me it's worth it. I get people who are building an AR and buy the cheap TAPCO 6 position to save some $$ and then they buy a Magpul a few months later or after they shoot a rifle with one. To me they are worth every single penny.

Both are dead companies for us. Larue will not allow any more dealers and Troy wants a initial $5k buy in. We are still trying to work with some distributors to buy Troy but no luck yet.

Man it sucks that the good quality gear makers have what I think are kind of crappy business practices.

Those are pretty standard business ideas... I imagine Larue wants to protect their current dealers by limiting by number of new dealer sign ups and an initial buy in is standard in any industry.

I think there's a little more to it than that or at least one of those dealers would be willing to sell me the handguard I want for a price other the $329 that every larue dealer charges. Minimum pricing sucks.

usually it is you must spend so much each year with a small buy in with this industry. If every manufacturer wanted a $5k buy in we would of needed a million dollars to start this up. Only company who required a buy in besides Troy was CMMG and was only $1500 which was easy. YHM wanted a buy in but we get better prices from their distributor than we do direct.
