Some of you might remember a while back that I had a problem burning CDs with one of my drives. The solution was to update the firmware for the drive. This morning, I attempted this, but accidentally entered the wrong drive "location" when updating the firmware. As it stands rightnow, I have one semi-operational DVD-R/W drive and one not-so-operational (because of the faulty firmware upgrade) DVD-ROM drive. Is there any way to go back and fix what I did?

The DVD-ROM is CompUSA 16X and my OS is XP Professional

Should be able to download a DVD-ROM firmware and install it on the DVD-ROM drive.

will any dvd-rom firmware work? or does it have to be a brand-specific one?

I think pretty much any one should work, but I'm not really sure. Search it up on google and see what you find :dunno:
