    Whats up..

I was wondering which scenerio would provide for quicker data transmission:

    1:
Data is being transfered from the hard drive (internal) to the
    DVD +/- RW (external/firewire).

    2:
Data is being transfered from a hard drive (external/firewire) to the
    DVD +/- RW (external/firewire).

I personally think that the second option would be faster, but I dont know for sure.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

But wouldn't the internal IDE connection slow it down? I don't know either, but my intuition would also say that firewire to firewire would be fastest :dunno:

I believe the limiting factor is the speed of the optical drive, not the source disk or its bus.

I think mdaniel is probably right now that I've slept on it.
