    i have just put up a flash banner on our homepage (www.pizzaovens.com), and told it to reference a stylesheet class that has a z index of 1. However it is still displaying above our left side flyout menu that has a z index of 200.
    any of you have this problem before?

    z-index can only be applied to elements with absolute positioning, are they?

    wmode = transparent

    Apply this as an object parameter or a variable in swfObject and it'll display it like you want it. The problem you have doesn't have anything to do with z-index or the positioning of your containers.
