Is there a way to clean out the file listing on the download window without actually deleting the files?

Yeah. Click the "Clean Up" button.

Thats a new one, my machines do not delete the file... You can try under the Privacy setting in the Options, there is a place to have the list deleted when Firefox is closed or after a successful download.

You sure it's deleting the files? Because that Clean Up button should only be clearing out the list. Double check that the files are in the place they were downloaded to. You might have to double check where that actually is. Maybe the reason you think it is deleting the files is because you're not looking for them in the right place.

Changing the options under the privacy setting worked (set it to clear upon closing)...

Not sure why it would delete the files - but if I hit the cleanup button in the download window it would delete the files I had just downloaded as well...

...and I know where I d/l files - been there, checked that, got the t-shirt :squint:

    Thanks for the help.

Hey, you never know if it's not specifically stated... You should see some of the help requests that come through here where something as simple as that was the fix...
