I will probably be moving into an apartment building in the next couple of months and I am just wondering if I would be able to take my guns with me. I checked some apartment websites but I couldent get a definate answer. Should I just bring them in with me and keep them under the radar or what? I am not talking about an arsenal or anything just a couple handguns and rifles plus a 12 gauge.

I would definately like to have at least 1 of my guns in my room for protection though.

I had a guy break into my house and i was talking to the cop about it and she said that living in an apartment is the same as living in a home... you're allowed to have firearms for protection and yadda yadda yadda... To sum it up, yes... you should most def. be able to have firearms (of any size) in your apartment!

seriously though, it says I can't have them and I keep all my guns there, I just make sure they are cased or in a gun sock when entering/leaving my apartment, and I avoid loading rifles in and out of cars if people are outside.

Wrong. The landlord can put no firearms in the lease and if you are caught he can boot your ass out for violation of the terms.

    .

I think there are a couple states that don't allow the landlord to put things like that in a lease, but I believe it's mostly up to the landlord.

A lot of places put that it's illegal in the lease... that said, I'd rather have to find a new apartment than be dead.

I may just bring my handgun. Carrying in a bunch of rifles are bound to attract attention.

Try to field strip your guns and put them in a box when you carry them around.

I knew a guy that had his AR apart and took a standard toolbox when he would go to the range, etc. Upper was on the top half and the lower was on the bottom half with some mags.
