Well I joined the AR crew a while back with one of CMMG's bargain bin rifles. The intent was to get a barebones AR and figure out what I liked and what I didn't like. I changed out the grip and stock on the CMMG before I decided that I minus whale just sell it and build an AR EXACTLY the way I want it. I finished it a while back but finally got around to taking some pictures of it.

    Specs are...
    Lower:
    POF-USA Gen I lower
    DPMS LPK
    KNS Gen II anti-rotational pins
    Magpul MIAD grip
    LMT SOPMOD stock
    H buffer

    Upper:
    CMT upper
    LMT AR-15 BCG
JP Rifles 16" Stainless match barrel, 1:8 twist, light profile
JP Rifles Recoil Eliminator brake (mistakenly shipped & will be replaced with their Tactical Compensator :o)
JP Rifles midlength gas system, adjustable gas block
    JP Rifles/VTAC Free float handguard
    Harris Bipod
    Badger Tac Latch

    Optics:
    Trijicon Accupoint 3-9x amber mildot

The intent of this rifle is to be a tack driver up to 400yds or so. She's a bit heavy (9.1lbs) but is a smooth shooter with no recoil. I had a Mueller APV on it earlier, but swapped it out for an Accupoint when eBay had 30% off. The JP handguard is fucking AWESOME. Much lighter than a quad rail and easier to hold onto. The SOPMOD stock works very well for me. It's got a great cheek weld and the heft balances out the weight of the SS barrel. The extra cost over the VLTOR stock was worth it to me so it doesn't pull out my beard. :hs: The only thing left on my to-buy list is a nicer trigger.

All that's left to do is sight in the Accupoint this weekend and await my 1200rds of Prvi 75gr that comes Monday. :coold:

I made it abundantly clear on the phone multiple times when I ordered the barrel that I wanted the TACTICAL COMPENSATOR, not the Recoil Eliminator but it came like this anyway. :wtc:

 I'd throw a magpul prs on it over that sopmod though

  6. Even a standard A2 stock would be cool.

It'll look more normal once that brake gets replaced with this:

The SOPMOD was carried over from my former CMMG. The PRS is a sweet stock and I'll eventually change to one when I get some cash.

Yeah, I tried to like the brake cuz I'm lazy and hate sending shit back even if the order was wrong but in the end its goofy and unnecessary. :o

The funny thing is how PISSED I was when it came like that. JP polishes their barrels SO well that I couldn't tell where the barrel ended and the brake begun, so it looked like it was welded on and I would have to send them the whole barrel assembly back. :mamoru:

  11. Other than the crazy brake, it looks great. I bet it would look even cooler with the non-railed gas block and the rifle length handguard!

I never added up the total cost, but if I had to guess it would be around $1700-1800 without the glass. Expensive, but its a rifle I can grow into and will eventually be able to shoot sub-MOA with for a long time to come. Buy once, cry once.

How do you like the badger tac latch? I've got a pri big latch (or whatever they call it) and I still have trouble grabbing the charging handle because of the scope bell. I usually end up grabbing it with one finger. :hs:
