    Ok, so far I have:
    - Q6600 G0
    - 150GB Raptor X
    - Antec P182SE Case
    - Antec True Power Quattro 850
    - Getting (probably) eVGA 8800GTX

Trying to pick out my final purchases...

    - ASUS P5K Deluxe, Gigabyte P35 DQ6, or ASUS Blitz Formula SE?
    I'm leaning towards the P5K.
I'd like to get the Blitz but its out of stock or unavailable everywhere I looked, and will probably be like $50-75 more than the P5K when it is available.

    - Should I return the Antec TPQ 850 PSU and get the Corsair 620HX PSU?
I'd be sacrificing one 12V rail, I believe, to get a 120mm fan instead of 80 and apparently a better PSU in general (according to reviews).
The Antec was $140 when I got it, the Corsair would be about $170.

    - Corsair Dominator 2GB DDR2 1066? Yea or Nay?
I've hardly looked at anything else, knowing how picky ASUS mobos are.
Kingston could be an option though.

you should know a 8800GTX only fits in a p180 if you remove the middle HDD bay. at least as far as i could tell there is no way it would fit.

Are you going to be using a backup drive?

If so, then you might want to use the 74gb Raptor.

It's the fastest of the Raptors.

    Single platter ftmfw.

But if it's going to be your only drive, then the 150gb Raptor makes more sense.

skip the 8800gtx and go for the ultra. Most places have the ultra for the same price and it is a faster card. Other than that, I like what you've got.

    I'd get the blitz

shop around for the corsair 620hx,... I've seen it around $110 after rebates/coupons.

Why get raptor X? Just get regular one save 30$... they are exactly the same drives.

There will be a second 320Gb HDD for storage later of all my old crap from my current computer, the Raptor will be mainly for the OS and some files and programs.

I haven't seen it running at the same price, everywhere I've seen has it for like $100 more. :dunno:

I guess I will wait around a bit more and keep looking for the Blitz, from what I've read it is actually a great board. Then again the P5K would probably be more than good enough for me aside from possible problems with the 8800 probably blocking SATA ports.
Yeah, I think I will probably return the Antec one and get the Corsair, even if for nothing else than the fan size and position. Also I hear it has longer cables, which will be easier to hide in my case.

I got it when it was on sale at Best Buy for about the same price as a normal one shipped at the time. :coold: I got it for $150, which wasn't too bad.

To answer your question instead of bringing up more issues: yes, yes, and yes.

if not the blitz, I'd get the P5K Premium (18th Anniv Black Pearl),... instead of the P5K deluxe.

it's pretty much the same with a few differences (e.g. no more mosfets at the back of the pcb). nothing special but it's a damn sexy board. :naughty:

ignore the reviews of the p5k premium in newegg. most are because of doa.

Yeah, never looked into that but heard things about it recently. Seen it put up with the Blitz Formula too with the same question of which to go with out of the two.

I'd check out the specs to see what exactly is different between them all, but ASUS's site is down :hsugh:

    Ok, lil update
3 of the last things I need to pick up:

    EVGA E-GEFORCE 8800 Ultra 612MHZ 768MB 2.16GHZ GDDR3 Dual DVI-I HDCP HDTV Out Video Card
About $30 more than the GTX I was looking at :eek3:

    ASUS P5K Premium WIFI-AP ATX LGA775 P35 2PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 3PCI SATA RAID Sound WLAN 1394 Motherboard
I dunno exactly what is better about this board than the P5K Deluxe :dunno: Might just go with that instead.

    Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-8500C5D 2GB 2X1GB PC2-8500 DDR2-1066 CL 5-5-5-15-2T Dual Channel Memory
Still looking around for the best price on this.

I think that'll be about it. Then I'd need to decide whether to keep the Antec TPQ 850 PSU or get something else and buy a copy of Vista, then the fun part of putting all the shit together.

Looks good to me. Buy it, cry in the shower afterwards about the cost, and then rejoice when it first boots up.

You know, even if this is a gaming rig, depending on the resolution that you run your monitor at, you may not notice any difference between the ultra and gtx cards.

I wasn't looking for an ultra really, I'd be fine and happy with the GTX, I just happened to see that one on sale for just a lil over the GTX.

It looks really good. Did you do that on a tablet, or did you scan it in?

This one I actually had to take a picture of straight from the notebook since I don't have a scanner at the moment and it was easier than redrawing it with my tablet.
