Do you guys usually "finish off a muscle" once you've worked it out?

Usually I see people doing high reps with a lighter weight or a different exercise after their main working sets.

I.e finishing with 50 reps tricep pushdown or high reps on the pec dec after bench press

It gives a good pump but is there actually any benefit to doing this, assuming you've finished your main heavy sets?

i like to do a set of 60-80 push ups before i go to bed on chest day. Don't know if it helps anything but it makes me feel more sore the next day, which psycolically makes me feel better and feel like i look better.

I read somewhere it really gets blood pumping to the muscle, when immediately drinking a protein shake after the workout and taking whatever other supplement, it probably helps it hit the muscle faster.

I do it from time to time with various muscle groups, just to mix it up, but generally do it to my biceps every other bicep workout.

I do a burnout, or what I always called a widowmaker, on my shoulder workout, usually a barbell military 10 in front, 10 behind, 10 in front, 3 sets, 1:00 rest between...

some other bodyparts get a similar treatment, based on how I feel at the end...usually just chasing that pump to walk out of the gym with

usually the very last set of my big compound movements involve some sort of light weights + high reps type of stuff.

after i do squats.. i do like burnout sts with 135 for the hell of it.

So is there any consensus on this?

Most people do it, but does it actually accomplish anything? Pur?

Ceaze, why do you NOT do it?
