Finally finished my build tonight, although i do need to exchange the rear sight i bought because my dumbass wasn't paying attention when i ordered it and it won't work with the VLTOR railed hand guards i got. Going to look for something in a flip down i guess. Anyway here are the pics:

put the BCM sticker on the stock because i'm probably going to swap it out so i figured why not. Going to try and get to the range this weekend and put some rounds through it. I put all the accessory rails on the handguards for now so they don't get misplaced, don't really need them all on there.

Why'd you go with the vltor?

I think you're gonna have problems with that sight no matter what, looks like there isnt enough room behind the vltor for anything, and if you mount it on top it'll be too high compared to your front sight :dunno:

    looks good though

there's room to the rear for a flip down sight on the upper, just have to pick out the right one. The material for the guards says to make sure to take that into consideration but i totally missed it

What if you mounted all your sights on that rail ? Front sight + rear sight + Eotech/aimpoint all on that extended rail.. Would that be fucking retarded or what ? :hsughno: How much were those HG's

the rear sight would mount to the upper, behind the extended rail. FSB is already there - flip up. I don't have an eotech, or considered getting one :dunno:

Oh lol I was referring to a hypothetical situation, do you think having all your sights on there at one time would look retarded? How do you like those forearms?

What sights are supposed to fit on there? All the ones I've seen have too much in front of the bolt. My MBUS actually covers to slot in front of the one the bolt goes through :dunno:

they look cool but they were made obsolete by monolithic uppers. plus raising the rail like that isnt good.

at the outset of my build, i really wanted a monolithic, but couldn't afford it so i just bought a flat top upper. Since i already had it when i got around to buying the forearms, I went with the VLTOR.

how do you get the barrel nut on a monolithic?

Monolithic uppers have various methods of attaching the barrels, some take proprietary barrels, others have tools that reach the nut going through the end of the rail system.

I've heard a lot of good things about that grip, personally I think they are ugly as sin, but if it works, who cares. I'd like to try one.
