For the first time since I was a teenager, I've decided to go freelance for a while, mainly because my boss is a cunt.

Last time I was freelance I found a niche market and had a backlog of clients pretty much permanently. But that market has gone now, and I'm pretty clueless as to how to get the ball rolling again.

    Any suggestions?

If you have time to invest go to brick and mortar shops and try to sell yourself, buy ad space on websites, network with people in your area, leverage facebook/twitters accounts and promote your business, make flyers and have a high school kid stand on a corner and hand them out... im tapped for ideas

Network from within. At your current job, find anyone and everyone within the company that needs work done. Get some projects completed (even if it's for free) and use this to network out to clients.

Depending on the tech level of where you work, you can open up a very large niche market very quickly. Many many industries are way way way technologically behind.
