Looking to the Mac Shack for assistance.

When I click on a .wmv in finder and it does its preview on the right (in column view), finder relaunches itself. It only does it to .wmv. Any ideas?

the preview feature is using quicktime, quicktime (natively) doesn't play windows media video files with a plugin - called flip4mac, have you updated recently?

Unfortunately I don't think VLC's implementation of WMV is too hot. I've got a number of WMVs that don't play right in it (primarily sound related) but they play fine everywhere else (WMP, QT with plugin, etc.).

I do have flip4mac, but I haven't updated it since I downloaded it. I think I downloaded it about a two months ago.

I'll try to make VLC the default player, but I notice it gets buggy with certain files. I only use it as a last resort when it comes to videos that don't open in wmp or QT.

I tried making WMV Player (flip4mac) and VLC but neither keep finder from restarting. and after changing them from the default player, I get a new message saying the current app unexpectedly quit.
