i've made my decision.
can anyone find one lower than $1139 + $40 mail in rebate? thats from b&h
you're going to regret not getting the IS
do you really think its worth $600 more?
Maybe. Doesn't matter what I think. You'll regret it either way.
either way as in if i get it or if i dont?
Instead of being able to use 1/200 in the tele end, you'll be able to use 1/25.
anyone have an example of the IS being used and not being used. i cant seem to find a side by side example of the same picture
i thought the non-is was better than the is version
I've never heard the non IS being better than the IS version of the 2.8. If you find yourself always carrying around a tripod, and having time to set up your shots, maybe the $600 IS isn't worth it. The IS will let you use several more stops of useful light before your pics become blurry from camera shake. However, when you use a tripod, the IS becomes useless anyway so... If you've got the money, I would probably go for it. Oooor you could use that $600 bucks and get yourself a nice prime, because, primes are the shit.
thats kind of what i was thinking of doing. getting the no-is and using the other $600 to save for a 24-70 f/2.8L IS
if i can find a good deal on the IS version i guess i'll get that. the cheapest i found so far is $1661 from amazon
Go Used man, I got my IS for 1400. There have been ones that went for less
i cant really find any. i'm hesitant about buying used since its a large amount and the possibility of being scratched
Here's a vid of image stabilisation on the Canon S1 IS.
First ten seconds are stabilised, the latter 10 seconds are not
There is no 24-70 f/2.8 IS.
you're right. i've got so much is on the brain i thought there was. just the L then
wow thats pretty cool. i guess i'm going to go with the is after all. now its on to pricing
For 600 dollars, you can get one hell of a nice tripod.
Check The B&S forum at fredmiranda.com.
i did. nothing. i think there is one on there but it was built in 2002
You might have trouble with finding a used 3rd generation IS for sale.
Shit, just wait some more, save some more, and buy it new.
There is no difference
f2.8, 1/25, ISO 3200
f2.8, 1/20, ISO 3200
I got mine for $1091.42
[move]Canon refurb FTW [/move]
Not a big refurbed man myself, but thats coo
