    :)

Yesterday during my jkd class we did about 15 minutes of just rolling around at the end of class, i got this guy in side control, and i put on an americano, I wasnt glued down on him I kinda posted up when i went to submit him and he snuck his free hand to grab my hand or his hand, so i quickly let go, grabbed his free hand and threw my leg over his face and leaned back. BAM! Armbar.

I know its not that exciting but it felt really good. It feels like i finally made some progress instead of just rolling in and out of different positions and being submitted.

The first time you ever submit someone will likely be the most memorable one. I still remember mine like it was yesterday.

    Congrats. It's addicting.

    :bigthumb:

My first submission was against a wreslter kid who was like 70 pounds heavier than me. We went from the knees and he shot in for a lazy double leg. I grabbed a guillotine, closed my guard and he tapped. He was so pissed. I was like 150 lbs and had been training for 4 weeks.

My first submission win in a tourney was a bush league tourney in North Dakota against a guy who was a wrestler who had trained BJJ twice with Royce in California and then came back and grappled in the tourney. Haha. Kimura in 30 seconds.

is where i originally trained for about 5 months, but it got boring and i couldnt do the advance classes because my schedule didnt work out with theirs.

    I now train here.

He lives about a 15 minute walk from me, i can only train on Tuesdays, i do alot of weight lifting and conditioning on my off days.

Anytime i get out of class i look forward to going the week after.

Ah, no way. I used to live not too far from ultimate (Markham and Lawrence). I'm out in the west end now. Hit me up on your off days if you ever want to bang, or roll etc etc. I just started BJJ recently but it's fun as hell.

Where do you live? I've got some heavy thai pads that I do my conditioning with my friends. I would love to roll around.

    I weight 160 and i'm 5'4''.

I was thinking about getting some padding so for rolling around but they are really expensive.

mine was very similar, except it was on my 4th day, and this guy had been training for months. He was not too excited about the whole thing.

That was the thing that weirded me out most. We never learnt it as an official transition or combo or anything, it kinda just happened in the spur of the moment, i saw the extended limb and my body said "TAKE IT!"

it is a face book crew..... lets people from other gyms roll with each other .. there is mat space some where at younge and finch... but it is purely an open mat ... to teaching or instruction ...

i started at toronotBJJ, but then they moved downtown and i couldn’t get to the classes in time.
I have a few friends that go there now.. they say it is awesome… jorege britto is a nice guy … but every one in toronto hates josh rappaport…but then again noone like the owner of my gym either lawls
