Only took 7 weeks between waiting for the license and getting delayed by the FBI.
Nice haul! And WTF 7 weeks? Is your last name bin Laden or something?
Whats the story behind the massive delay?
Well here in Massachusetts (if I need to say more) it's the process. They say so many people are applying so it takes longer. I don’t buy it because other towns around me can get their license in as little as two weeks. I just think the people who do the background checks do them when they want and take as much time as they want.
It was 6 weeks and 1 day until I was able to get my license. That was a Friday, I went to the store and how we do things in MA is you fill out a form for the FBI check, then they call the FBI to see if you recently were arrested for any felonies, then they call the department of mental health, then you fill out more forms and they run you through your local police station, then they finger print you and it runs through to the FBI database, then they go over the gun with you and you sign a couple of forms.
When they called the FBI, they told them I was delayed, meaning they had to look into my information whether I had the same name as a killer (only 50 people have my last name in this entire country), maybe the info was never passed along to the FBI that my ID was activated or maybe they didn’t have time to check into it over the phone. Either way the FBI does not explain themselves nor will they. If they take longer than 5 business days I have the legal right to take the firearms home unless the store is told I was denied. That was Sat, the store was closed Sun and Mon. On Tue when they opened I got a call saying I'm clean to pick them up. I work in the stock trading environment so you can but your not allowed to bang in sick or take a day off on short notice, it's frowned upon massively. I had to talk to my boss and he said Thursday would be best. Then I went back to the store and went through the application process all over again from the start.
I like the extra checks, I think it is enough to justify safety and make buying a gun on a whim a little harder. It's the lenght of waiting time with no explanation that annoys me. I think as a citizen I have the right to know why the government is saying "no, just wait". If they have a valid reason then sure, go ahead and I'll wait but I assume they dont want to go into details and reveal how much time is wasted.
Wat? Only 4 pictures of the containers? Honestly, I was hoping to see more pictures of the containers.
I don't see any reason for there to be anything more than a computer check to confirm you are you who say you are and that you have no criminal/mental health history.
Should take 5 minutes tops.
GJ getting scary guns in shiney happy MA though.
Oh we've got a smart ass in the room.
Did it hurt your finger too much to scroll past those pictures? I know the 3 seconds of your life is irreplaceable, you could of spent it picking your nose or checking out porn.
By the way it's three pictures and one picture of bag
What was in the bag?
New pre-ban mag's, .223 ammo and a Hogue (spelling) grip. The rifle has the new grip on it, so much nicer.
i would like to see pics of those trained attack cats, using the containers as weapons.

Nice haul, sucks you had to hop through that many hoops to get it.
too many cats, if I was in a position of authority at the FBI, I would deny to you too
