Nice. I've always been tempted. I've eyed the HK91 long enough, too...

    Damned .308's!

    20 rounds of .308 for about $750.

    Built on HK type design.

    Roller-lock for minimal recoil.

I've never heard anyone describe the CETME/G3 design as being "minimal recoil" - it's right on up there with an AK on assertively jabbing your shoulder every shot. I will say that the perceived CETME recoil impulse is about the same as the AK firing 7.62x39 with considerably less oomph, so maybe that enormous bolt is doing something for recoil after all...

    +1

I probably won't buy one though, I have enough guns to feed without having to buy .308

Silver Bear is your friend with 7.62x51 battle rifles - especially brass-destroying beasts like the CETME/G3.

My justification is having a x51 Ishapore Enfield that it would share ammo with.

Merced here. Any shops up there that will do OLL stuff without charging 80+ for the xfer?

Not really...My old FFL was cheap, but they won't do OLL stuff anymore. I went through Irvington this time, they charged $100 total - tax and fees and what not.

I usually head down to Panoche to shoot - you ever out there?

Damn outrageous transfer fees. I think Roger's Relics in Santa Clara is a little bit cheaper than that.

For half the price of a PTR-91, I don't have any complaints.

I wouldn't know, but it's supposedly good to go in rifles like the cetme/g3 that can tear the head off of thinner brass .308 cartridges. Cheaper than buying actual 7.62x51 too.
