UPS next day air apparently means UPS 6 day air :ugh:

So...I'm afraid of something, hopefully I'm just being an idiot and it isn't broken- but I can't fucking change the aperture settings. In manual the wheel on the back won't do jack shit. Do I have to unlock something? The top one by the shutter changes the shutter speed just fine, aperture is completely stuck at 5.6 in M mode.

Thing feels like a chincy piece of shit, maybe I shouldn't of shot with a 1d over the weekend :(

1/200th flash sync FTL, and you should never have shot with the 1 series.

    Why is that :o

In the past year I've gone from 350d-20d-now 5d. Used a 1d for a few weeks in march of last year (didn't know toooo much about cams then), had to use one for a shoot this weekend. Thinking of just picking up a used 1d /sell the 20...leaf shutter feels so fucking good. 8 fps... sharp..

1/200th sucks outside. You have to use fp sync. And that steals all your power.

I'd like to see a high iso raw file from the 5d.

It can be a really stupid picture. I'm not asking you for a good shot.

Hard to overpower the sun with 1/200th :o [unless you got some powerful strobes]

Original 1d could do up to 1/500th but never tried to push it past that. I can get up to 1/320th with the mk2, though its rated for 1/250th.

In comparison to the 10/20/30D/rebel bodies, the feeling of the 1 series body is so much more robust and solid. Not to mention the much better (clear/bright) viewfinder, even compared to the 5d. Not sure if you can get a hold of the 1d again, but hold up both to your eyes at the same time, and you'll see what I mean.

Yeah, my assistant is the one who has the 1d- he is a sports (downhill mtn bike racing/bmx) shooter. I know customers will like the large LCD of the 5d- the portability, weight and high iso performance will help for certain things...if I had the luxury of having my lights with me at all times a 1 series would be my only option, unfortunately I still have to do a lot work out on my feet.

    rebate question:

purchased a 5d + 580ex in the time period, what do I get back? If anything...I hate mail in rebates.

Shot a few w/3200 ... let me know where you want it matt

$600 for the 5d, not sure about the 580. Make sure you make copies of everything. I went as far as getting insurance on the rebate I sent out. If usps loses it, I'd be out $700 :hsugh:

Not sure about your area, but I wouldn't pay more than $50-75 for a weekend. Just buy one
