Until I go on safari somewhere, in which case I'll rent whatever else I need. For sports, I'll rent a 300 f/4 or f/2.8 depending on rate.... but for every day, I'm done:

I'm quickly finding the usefulness of the 17-55mm f/2.8, but, may have to resort to the typical parents' reply of "I love them all" (but secretly, there's a lot more sentimental value in the 85mm f/1.4)

The 10-22 is fun! My dad's got one for this 20D.

The 24-70 has some very nice optics, but the focal length is kind of weird, on digital anyway. Not quite wide enough when you want it (but I guess that's why you get the 10-22), and not quite telephoto enough when you want it (but I guess that's why you get a 70-200). That aside, it's a nice piece of work.

Just a quick shot from the new lens (17-55), nothing special, but handheld at dusk:

    My mom's got a 105mm Micro non-VR that I have access to if/when I need a macro lens.

And, yes, it's just as sharp as the VR one (and half the price!)

Ugly? What makes a lens uglier than another (unless, it's got a mechanical penis attached to it or something... hahahaha)? At least they aren't white :p

Yeah, the 17-55 is rather big and heavy, but it's all metal and can take a beating.

the aperature ring on the ends, and just asthetics overall, very film cam days-ish. Yes I know thats what they were originally designed for, but compare the canon 50 1.4 and the nikon. :mamoru:

Ah, yeah.... Nikon seems to be making all their lenses old school lookin', which I have no problem with. After all, it's the glass that matters, and boy do they make that look good ;)
