Helped a friend move today and he found a 10/22 that he forgot he had. It's probably 20 years old and had been sitting in his closet for the last 15 or so. He gave it to me for helping him move his stuff :h5:

I think I'm gonna try for an atypical setup. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet, but I don't want it to look like everyone elses 10/22.

First of all, how can you forget about owning a gun? Escpacially something as economical as a 10/22. I think I would use it the most, just because of cheapness.

But good find btw. I hope to get a stainlees (or whatever the $220 models come in) and then get a silver Simons scope:o

Quick question, every time I shoot my 10/22 after a few hundred rounds the barrel comes loose, how can I stop this?

Blue Loctite on the bolt that holds the dovetail that keeps the barrel on.

I want to get a 10/22 with one of those Akins Accelerator stocks on it.

    Too bad they're like $900.

I think someone could build a big bulky white trash version if they wanted to. Make the frame out ouf a square wood frame. Then get a few different springs of different force, and 2 long screws and 2 wing nuts. Put 2 screws thru each of the 2 spings of the same force, and then put the screw thru the wood frame and put on the wing nuts. Then all you have to do is figure out a way to make some kind of moving case that fits inside the box to hold the 10/22 so it doesnt get hurt, and attach it to the 10/22 and case. Then put a spring at the back of this white trash monstrosity to force the rifle forward again

Is it legal to make your own or would it have to be approved before use?

There's a guy on a local gun board that's working on his own version. He went ahead and bought the real one and is going to modify it to his liking. As long as you don't sell it they won't come after you.

if you read it, it wont tell you the exact year, but an approximation of when it was made.

    mine was between 1995-1996 :coold:
