Seriously, I hate ordering holsters, I want something I can try beforehand...

I was browsing around a shop with my pops, the owner has applied to become a PI with my dad, so he is hard pressed to impress him...

Anyways, we were browsing through his gear, and saw this...the first 1911 holster I've found intown, and man is it sweet

I can't draw super quick yet, but with some practice I should be able to draw faster. The lock mechanism is a trick idea with great ergo...

and the price was less then the usd list price...which was definately nice.:wavey:

The retention system gets a lot of hate, but I had one of these and I really liked it. My wife uses one for open carry with her G19, and she likes it. We've never had problems with the retention system sticking :dunno:

there are stories of the retention system failing (and keeping the weapon) when it gets something trapped in it (like a pebble or a lot of dirt or something).

It's never happened to me or my wife, but people worry that it could happen at exactly the wrong moment.

I like the holster concept for open carry, but I know that paddle holsters can be removed/disarmed pretty easily.

It comes with both the belt loop attachment and the paddle attachment.

I really don't see anyone "ripping" the paddle off. It takes quite a bit of effort to get off when you're trying to remove it yourself.

I'm no talking about taking our the entire holster. The videos I saw in my carry training showed someone just putting their hands over the hammer and pressing down firmly on the weapon. This snapped off numerous paddle holsters and the attacker now has your weapon and holster.

Has this actually ever happened to anyone? Gun grabs are the thing most people open carrying worrying about, and they do happen. I've never heard of this actually happening, it seems more like a movie trick than something someone would do in real life. Personally if I were wearing a leather paddle and someone tried it, I'm quite confident the'd have my pants around my ankles before they ripped the leather.

I don't know just seems like a very odd thing to worry about, but then again I don't personally want any retention holsters anyway so..
