After sinking most of my "photo" money into cameras, I finally broke down and bought a tripod.

Samy's Camera was having a sale today on Bogen/Gitzo stuff, I ended up with a Gitzo Explorer G2220 and a Bogen 486 RC2 ball head.

I initially went in looking for a Bogen 3021Pro tripod and 3047 head, but I couldn't pass up on the Gitzo.

What are you guys using for supports?

i use a $15 ambico tripod from the home shopping network. only because i had a $5 coupon.

i got what i paid for i guess, one of the plastic knobs broke off and it wont fold all the way.

ive been wanting to get a mono-pod? some thing small and light to carry around when i need that little bit of extra stability.

I was staring at the Bogen monopods there today as well, they had some for as low as 35 dollars. Decided against it since I was already splurging on this tripod.

I'm not too sure about the ballhead, I may pawn it in favor of a 3-way. I'm not sure I like how the entire top flops loose when all I want to do is pan the head.
