I know... no pics, but I was all giddy that I finally bought it. Cabela's had the big grand opening sale, so I was there right when the doors opened to grab this safe ($100 off).

This is it here, but in black: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/t...ts&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=safe&noImage=0

$830 OTD. I'm gonna have a guy deliver and install it (drill and bolt it) for $80 though, so it's $910 total. Not bad I think.

I need to clear out some space in my server room before I have the guy pick it up - it'll be some time later this week.

Oh, and it's fireproof, waterproof, and has a lifetime warranty.

Nice, could have gotten bigger for the money though. I'm gonna go pick one up this weekend probably.

Oh, and no safe is fireproof resistant maybe, not proof!

sorry, yeah. resistant - same with the water.

And I could have gotten cheaper, but it was the lifetime warranty that sold me on it. The ones I was looking at were 1 year - 5 year. I like the thought of a lifetime.

Edit: And this thing is big enough - I had a hard enough time finding someplace to put this monster.

You know, just in case a gun suddenly comes alive and wants to load and shoot by itself?

My family had a gun closet when I was growing up, they kept all the guns and ammo in there. Nothing bad ever happened that I can remember.

well, we were more of a hunting family. A few boxes of 12g, a few 20g, and various high powered rifle ammo (boxes of 20).

The point is, no one died!

(and that you're a freak and I'm jealous)

I was hoping it was something I didn't know about like... fumes from the ammo cause weapons to rust or something like that.

Hey look at that! 5000 posts!
